Oil marketing companies once again increased the prices of petrol and diesel on Sunday, due to which petrol has crossed Rs 101 per liter in Mumbai and Rs 95 per liter in Delhi for the first time. The price of petrol was increased by up to 27 paise and that of diesel by 31 paise in four metropolitan cities of the country. From May 4 till now, the prices of petrol and diesel have been increased for 19 days, while there has been no change in the prices for the remaining 15 days. Petrol has become costlier by Rs 4.63 and diesel by Rs 5.22 in Delhi during this period.
According to leading oil marketing company Indian Oil Corporation, the price of petrol in the national capital Delhi and Mumbai increased by 27-27 paise to Rs 95.03 to Rs 101.25 per liter respectively. Diesel became costlier by 29 paise in Delhi and 31 paise in Mumbai. The price of one liter of diesel has gone up to Rs 93.30 in Mumbai and Rs 85.95 per liter in Delhi. In Kolkata, petrol became costlier by 26 paise to Rs 95.02 and diesel by 29 paise to Rs 88.80 per liter. In Chennai, the price of petrol increased by 24 paise and that of diesel by 28 paise. There one liter of petrol was found for Rs 96.47 and one liter of diesel for Rs 90.66.
