 Raipur/08 July 2021.  State Congress President Mohan Markam has said that in comparison to the Congress-UPA government, the prices of crude oil decreased year after year during the tenure of the Modi government and the prices of petrol and diesel increased to cut the pockets of 140 crore countrymen.  Instead of giving relief to the general public, the Modi government is recovering from the general public by increasing the arbitrary excise duty in diesel-petrol.

 State Congress President Mohan Markam has said that due to the increase in the prices of crude oil in the international market during the UPA government, the leaders of the BJP wept for inflation due to the partial increase in the prices of petrol, diesel, cooking gas within the country.  Now why is there silence on the increase in the prices of petrol and diesel due to increase in tax, not increase in crude oil prices during Modi government?

 State Congress President Mohan Markam has said that in 2013-14, the price of crude oil was $105.52 per barrel.  After that, despite the fall in the prices of crude oil, the Modi government took out Rs 25 lakh crore from the pockets of consumers by giving petrol and diesel at expensive prices.  Now the people of the country are looking for BJP leaders who protested by spreading falsehoods by wearing empty cylinders and wearing onion-potato garlands and cycling during the UPA government, calling inflation a witch.

 Modi government and BJP talk about petrol and diesel prices being based on crude oil prices but the truth is something else.  The prices of petrol and diesel were not increased till the Bengal elections and after the defeat of the BJP in the elections, the prices of petrol and diesel started increasing again.

 State Congress President Mohan Markam has said that the Modi government has increased the excise duty on petrol by 258 percent in 7 years and by 820 percent on diesel.  Central excise duty on petrol was ₹9.20 per liter in May 2014, which is ₹23.78 per liter today.  Excise duty on diesel was ₹3.46 per liter in May 2014, which is ₹28.37 per liter today.  In the year 2014-15, the central government used to collect ₹99,068 crore annually from excise.  In the year 2020-21, the excise duty amount collected from petrol and diesel increased to ₹ 4,51,000 crore.

 During the Corona period alone, the BJP government increased the duty by ₹ 13 per liter on petrol and ₹ 16 per liter on diesel.  In the last two months, the Modi government has increased the price of petrol by ₹ 9.81 per liter and that of diesel by ₹ 8.80 per liter.

 The truth behind the robbery of petrol and diesel is as follows

 The price of petrol has crossed ₹ 100 per liter in more than 200 cities of the country including Delhi.  The price of diesel is touching ₹90 per litre.  From January 1, 2021 to July 7, 2021, the Modi government increased the price of petrol and diesel 69 times.  From April, 2014 to June, 2021, the Modi government spent ₹ 25,000,000,000,000 crore from the loot of petrol and diesel.  Earned 25 lakh crores (24,94,122 crores).

 The Modi government has proved to be the most insensitive of independent India and the most insensitive government for the consumers.  Talking about the concerns in the Modi government, when the characters of loot sit in power, then "the income of the public becomes less and the days become expensive".  The Modi government is only engaged in eradicating the "hungry for power" and 140 crore countrymen are being looted by "back-to-back inflation".

 State Congress President Mohan Markam has said that the BJP government at the Center has changed the very definition of democracy.  The Modi government has done the work of scavenging the income of the common people by throwing the people into the fire of inflation.  Just thinking of the interests of its Dhanna Seth friends has been the Modi government.  The truth is that the 'inflation witch' has now started looking like an 'apsara' to the BJP.

    Modi government's 'trick, face and character' can be defined in a single sentence :-

 Modi government is not hated by unemployment-inflation.

 But there is no good progress in the Modi government.

 Modi government should either reduce the prices of petrol-diesel, LPG and curb inflation or vacate the chair.
