Raipur। “KHADI FASHION SHOW” 2023

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Khadi fashion show was organized by the Department of Fashion Designing and Technology of MATS University Raipur. The aim of the event was to encourage all the spectators towards traditional dress by presenting Indian culture through Khadi.

The chief guest for the event was  CEO Of MATS University, Mrs. Priyanka Pagariya All the guests appreciated the efforts of Mats University and also motivated the students about the career prospects in fashion designing. The program was inaugurated by the Chancellor of Mats University Mr. Gajraj Pagaria sir, Director General Mr. Priyesh Pagaria sir, Vice Chancellor Prof.Dr. K.P Yadav sir, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Deepak Dhand madam, Registrar Mr. Gokulananda Panda sir, Dean Dr. Vijay Bhushan Nag sir and Head of department Mrs. Parvinder kaur and was  CEO Of MATS University, Mrs. Priyanka Pagariya with garland and lighting of lamp on the idol of Maa Saraswati. 

Head of the Department Mrs. Parvinder Kaur stated that the Khadi Fashion Show was organized to give inspirational message of Gandhi’s ideas of discipline, truth, non-violence and simplicity, ease, conscientiousness. Students of the Department of Fashion Designing displayed different types of self-made Khadi garments. The objective of this event was to encourage handicrafts so as to promote the traditional characteristics of India and Indian culture. 

A charismatic display of different artistic and creative fabrics made from Khadi was done through this show; the special characteristic of Khadi fabrics is that they are eco-friendly. The students of Fashion Designing had a splendid ramp walk on the stage wearing attractive clothes made of Khadi, while the audience made the stage resonate with applause on the changing style of Khadi. The talent and skill of the students was also evident through this show. During this, the guests described the promotion of Khadi as a commendable effort through this event. 

The program was concluded by Registrar of Mats University Mr. Gokulananda Panda with a vote of thanks to all present in the event. Heads of various departments, students and dignitaries of all departments of MATS University were present on this occasion.
